Actor, director and producer Ronald William “Ron” Howard is one of the rare child stars that made the transition from child star to successful actor to producer: and he made it spectacularly well. Known for his role as Opie Taylor in The Andy Griffith Show, Howard became popular as the endearing teenage Richie Cunningham in the sitcom Happy Days. Since the 1980’s, he has directed numerous box office hits, including Apollo 13, Frost/Nixon and A Beautiful Mind. Howard excels at maintaining the right balance between artistic integrity and popular appeal. It’s no surprise that in 2003 he was awarded the National Medal of Arts. Recently, Ron Howard teamed up with his daughter, the thirty year old actress Bryce Dallas Howard, to create Project Imagin8ion: a series of eight short films inspired by viewer selected photographs sponsored by Canon. There are two categories offered in this photography contest:

  1. photos to be considered for  Setting, Time, Character and Mood categories (submissions open between May 22-June 2, 2011)
  2. photos to be considered for Relationship, Goal, Obstacle and The Unknown categories (submissions open from June 3-June 14, 2011)
